Expert approach to analysing & improving grinding mill performance

Christian Pfeiffer has long been recognized as an expert in the grinding and separation technology for the cement industry. This annual seminar will be held for the first time in Liezen, Austria, where MFL, the parent of CPB, is located. The 3-day event is designed specifically for Plant Managers, Technical, Production and Maintenance Managers or Engineers, who are charged with the responsibility of selecting, operating or maintaining grinding plants and equipment in order to produce consistent quality product at the lowest cost. 

Whether you are looking to reduce energy cost, increase output or improve product quality of existing mills, or selecting a new grinding plant, this seminar will provide you with practical answers from a company with vast amount of knowledge and data accumulated over 80 years in the industry. Participants will have the opportunity to not only learn but also personally exchange experience with CPB experts, invited speakers and fellow delegates in a relaxed and small group environment.

1st day:

  • Comparative cost of ownership of the different grinding systems
  • Latest design of ball mill and the internals
  • Latest design of high efficiency separators
  • Optimum lay-out & engineering of cement grinding circuit
  • Mill control systems
  • Tour of MFL foundry & workshop facilities

2nd day:

  • Consideration and evaluation of mill performance
  • Impact of material characteristics & grindability
  • Mill audit and axial sampling
  • Optimisation of ball charge
  • Upgrading of mill internals
  • Workshop: challenges & experience in mill operation & improvement
  • Presentation & discussion of findings

3rd day:

  • Separator performance evaluation
  • Upgrading of separator: replacement or modification?
  • Maintenance consideration & best practices
  • Performance bench marking & sustainability issues
  • Visit to University of Leoben for CPB sponsored R&D in particle separation technology

Seminar Fee: 2,980 EUR net

The seminar fee is inclusive of the hotel accommodation, 2-way transfer from an Austrian airport to the hotel and any other local transport, food and beverages as well as electronic copy of the seminar material.
