PZW Wotan, a privately owned cement producer in the Eifel mountains in Ahuette, Germany has signed an order for a semi-turnkey project for a new grinding plant.

The new plant will be integrated in the existing cement plant and will be connected to the existing clinker storage and cement silos. Five hoppers for feed materials will be installed. A sophisticated distribution system on top of the feed bins allows a good flexibility.

The scope of supply comprises ...

Christian Pfeiffer Germany operates a manufacturing workshop in Mezzomerico, Italy, for the production of high chromium alloyed cast grinding media. The scope of supply comprises media sizes from 15 - 110 mm diameter as well as cylpebs for cement and raw meal grinding applications.

For more details about the new heat-treatment plant please look here.

In collaboration with the "Montan University" in Leoben/Austria Christian Pfeiffer presently executes a case study about the "dispersion behaviour in an air-stream cage separator". This case study is performed by the Department of Mineral Processing being conducted by the head of the chair, Univ.-Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.mont. Helmut Flachberger.

For years, the Monobloc(R) structure of Christian Pfeiffer intermediate diaphragms is famous for its rigid and long-lasting design and is used in thousands of cement mills world-wide. Christian Pfeiffer produces the Monobloc(R) diaphragm with its unique floating fixation, which is nowadays the customers’ first choice. The major improvement is the consequent separation of material and air flow.

Furthermore, a new design of slotted plates for the intermediate diaphragm is introduced. The plates made of rolled steel keep a certain elasticity after heat treatment which prevents breakage. This property allowed reduction of the crosspiece between the slots to such an extent that the open area of the slots could be increased by 40 - 50 %.

At the cement works "Kyzylkumcement" Navoi, the first separator installation from Christian Pfeiffer was recently commissioned. For the modernisation of the grinding plant, CPB executed the full engineering, conversion of the mill internals with new shell lining systems, diaphragms and highly wear resistant grinding balls. Furthermore, the scope of supply comprised the high efficiency separator QDK 29-N, a cement cooler, cement pump and transport equipment .

With this modernization, it is now possible for the first time to produce high quality cement with a fineness of up to 6.100 cm2/g acc. Blaine (PC500 D0) in Uzbekistan.

The new grinding plant in Gladstone, Australia, comprises a ball mill Ø 4.6 m x 14,25 m. The mill is supported on slide shoe bearings and is powered by a 5.200 kW motor and side drive gear unit. Complete new mill internals (1st and 2nd chamber shell liners, Monobloc intermediate and discharge diaphragms) were also included in the scope of supply. A high efficiency separator QDK 36-N with a nominal volume flow of 220.000 3/h has been installed as well. The finish product is collected in two cyclones and the cement is cooled down by a CPB powder cooler CPB 33-85.

This new clinker grinding plant is the first semi turnk-key project realized by Christian Pfeiffer in "Down Under".

Christian Pfeiffer America - Change of company's name

As of January 1, 2010, the Christian Pfeiffer Beckum subsidiary American Pfeiffer Corporation will begin doing business as Christian Pfeiffer America.

Although this change of name does not affect CPB's relationship or operations with our North American company, it does provide for greater uniformity and Christian Pfeiffer corporate name identity.
